Fiber

Fiber is the primary link. A private APN is the path when the fiber stops carrying traffic.

We take fiber from operators — Play and others — on their offer: symmetry, a static IP and an SLA as they appear in the contract, not as a number on this page. Between sites there may be a VPN or MPLS at L2 or L3, if the operator sells that product. We are not a fiber operator.

Fiber

01

Working

The branch uses fiber into the same headquarters and the same policy.

02

Cut

Peplink moves traffic to LTE/5G on the private APN. Where coverage is weak, it adds Starlink.

03

Return

When the fiber returns, traffic returns to the primary link. Backup goes back to waiting.

One policy on both paths

Backup does not open a local internet at the branch. The packet still enters headquarters, and the public network only through the firewall — or not at all.
