Industrial SCADA

A field RTU is visible to the supervisory system. Not to the internet.

We connect the path. We do not take over process control or substation protection. The logic stays with you and with the SCADA supplier.

SCADA
Example: a plant with 18 field RTUs and one SCADA control room. An illustrative scenario, not a client reference. Water pumping stations are described on the water-meter page.

A channel, not control

We carry measurements and alarms. Setpoints stay with you.

A separate zone

The office and the field are not one addressing plan.

Named service

It is clear which SIM is in which cabinet.

What bounces off the edge

A controller with a SIM “on the internet” is both a piece of the process and a target a scan can find.

Measurements and alarms travel the private APN to the supervisory system. Remote service, if the design includes it, starts from the control room. Traffic between RTUs is cut unless the process truly needs them to see each other.

Security

  • No public address on the RTU.
  • The tunnel ends on the firewall beside SCADA, not on the flat office network.
  • The SIM list is the list of controllers allowed on the channel.

OT connectivity can sit inside the risk of an industrial entity. The channel can be taken off the internet. That is not statutory compliance and it is not responsibility for the process.
