Telemetry
A measurement point sends a reading. It does not get an address on the internet.
A logger, an environmental sensor, a gateway on an industrial site. A shared private pool lets headquarters tell the points apart and reach them. Energy and water meters, vending machines, chargers and BMS have their own pages — this one is site telemetry.

A short reading does not get a video tariff.
What bounces off the edge
A modem with a public address on a pole or in a cabinet is a standing scan target, while service still starts from headquarters.
The SIM gets a private address. The reading goes to the system you run. A firmware update starts from your network. The radio profile — LTE, LTE-M or NB-IoT — follows how often the reading is sent and how large it is.
Security
- No route from the internet to the modem.
- Points can be cut off from each other.
- The access log stays on the control-room firewall.
